Although the actor sometimes trends online for less positive things, like being Twitter’s least favorite Chris, Chris Pratt began to trend today after Bryce Dallas Howard told Insider she was paid “so much less” than her co-star and said Pratt advocated for her equal pay. In 2018, Variety reported that Howard was paid $2 million less than Pratt for the second movie of the Jurassic World trilogies, which they were coworkers for.

“When I started negotiating for ‘Jurassic,’ it was 2014, and it was a different world, and I was at a great disadvantage. And, unfortunately, you have to sign up for three movies, and so your deals are set,” Dallas told Insider, clarifying she was paid much less. She also added when she told Pratt this, he advocated for them to be paid the same on other franchise opportunities. “‘Whenever there was an opportunity to move the needle on stuff that hadn’t been already negotiated, like a game or a ride, he literally told me: ‘You guys don’t even have to do anything. I’m gonna do all the negotiating. We’re gonna be paid the same, and you don’t have to think about this, Bryce,'” Howard said to Insider.

This caused Pratt to trend online, as some people are not favorable of the actor after some comments he made about his ex-wife, Anna Faris, and for attending a church that is notable for being homophobic. Still, the fact Pratt was passionate about advocating for the equal pay whenever possible was interesting to many, as this is an issue that comes up in Hollywood often.

“Love Chris Pratt for doing this!” one fan wrote on Twitter. But, not everyone thought it was an obvious gender issue when it comes to unequal pay in Hollywood. Some pointed out how a more recognizable or popular actor will be paid more, in this case being Pratt. “I adore Bryce Dallas Howard, but he’s a much bigger box office draw than her. I’m not saying this industry probably can’t do a better job of pay equity, but these two really aren’t in the same tier when it comes to star status, right?” one person noted.
