Will Smith is Renting Out the Fresh Prince Of Bel Air House for $30

You read that title right. This October, one of the most iconic sitcoms, ‘Fresh Prince of Bel Air’ is turning 30 years old. Hard to believe it has been thirty years since our televisions first introduced us to the Banks family and their hilarious nephew, Will. To ring in the celebration, Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff have taken to Airbnb to rent out the Los Angeles estate featured in the show. The announcement became public as the fresh prince himself posted a selfie with DJ Jazzy Jeff in front of the house stating, “YOOOO!! Y’all think we should rent out the @freshprincehouse?? We’re making it happen with the squad at @airbnb!! #FreshPrince30th”

Airbnb followed his post by advertising the listing on their Twitter.

What’s Included

According to Airbnb’s website, the rental includes one wing of the house, which Smith refers to as his wing. The wing features a large beautiful bedroom, full bathroom, dining room, outdoor lounge, and a drop-dead gorgeous pool area. Each is decorated in classic ‘Fresh Prince’ style, including bright spray paint in the bedroom, Air Jordans, and a foosball table. Will Smith wrote on the description to the rental as “It’s your crib for the night, so feel free to act like you own the place. My wing of the mansion includes my bedroom (great for naps), a full bathroom (great for spitting bars in the shower), pool area (great for dips), an outdoor lounge, and the dining room (great for eating obviously). And you gotta do it like my guy DJ Jazzy Jeff so don’t forget your sunglasses!” Meals will be served on silver platters to guests staying in the house. 

They begin accepting bookings in the coming weeks on September 29th. The bookings are limited to five one-night stays, for five very lucky fans and a guest of choice. Smith made it clear on the listing that there will not be a contest to raffle off the five potential nights nor will more than two people be allowed in the home. Sorry folks, no parties allowed. Bookings are first come first serve, and renters must be residents of LA county. The best part is, it’s only $30 a night with meals included.

The Excitement is Building

Fans on Twitter are getting excited for the potential to stay at such an iconic home for such a great price. These twitter users cannot hide their feelings and they are wasting no time making plans for their stays at the mansion: 

Many users are already planning for their trip. Fans are figuring out which scenes to recreate in the home. @CJToledano alluded to the very popular episode in which the home got robbed in this tweet.

They were not the only ones that are hoping to create a famous scene.

Not Buying It

Other users were a little iffy about the listing, considering the show was never filmed inside the home, but rather just for outside videos. The home is also not in Bel Air, but in Brentwood. Not even the cheap price could woo these twitter users: 

Despite a few people skeptical about it not being exactly like the show, hundreds of fans have a hard time hiding their excitement. The rental is sure to book within seconds, with only five available nights.

While Will Smith will not be there to welcome future guests into the mansion nor will Carlton be dancing poolside for their entertainment, but this is sure to help you relive the 90’s and live out all your Fresh Prince of Bel Air dreams. Lounge by the pool in a luxurious lounge chair, or have an Uncle Phil style dinner served to you on a silver platter, literally. Whether you are shooting hoops in the bedroom, playing foosball with your guest of choice, or just making everyone on your Instagram jealous, there is no doubt this would be a night to remember.
