Actor Jeremy Allen White, notably the Emmy winning star of “The Bear,” is reportedly required to undergo regular alcohol testing as part of his custody agreement amid his divorce from wife Addison Timlin.

The actor and actress share two daughters, Ezer, four, and Dolores, two. The testing will be required for five days out of the week, and according to court documents obtained by ET, will be performed via Soberlink. The portable clinical grade breathalyzer utilizes advanced technology to track the facial recognition of the test subject, so as to ensure the correct individual is being tested. The results are then kept in a patient portal.

The documents confirmed that a compliant test marks no alcohol in White’s system and his identity confirmed, while a non compliant result would indicate either alcohol in his system or a lack of identity confirmation. It remains unclear whether a false positive is a possibility in the system.

In addition to the regular testing, White is also required to begin attending Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). Under the agreement, White is required to attend two meetings per week, and individual therapy once per week. Timlin can also request proof of attendance, though according to documents, this tidbit will not be legally filed unless White breaks his end of the agreement. Additionally, both parties agree that either parent may be present at the childrens’s events, including soccer games and school performances.

The documents read, “this Stipulation shall not be filed with the Court absent a breach of terms by either of the Parties or a ‘non-compliant test’ or ‘positive test’ by [White] as defined herein below, and a failure to cure the breach.”

The finalized court documents were signed sealed and delivered at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Oct. 10. Timlin first filed for divorce from White in May 2023. The former couple first met in 2008, marrying in 2019.

Many were surprised at the nature of White and Timlin’s custody agreement.

Others felt that the agreement should have stayed private. Prior to the publicly released court documents, White has never spoken of struggling with addiction.

Elsewhere, others turn to his upcoming professional news. White portrays Kerry Von Erich in the upcoming A24 biopic “Iron Claw”, with a new trailer released this week. The actor has made a name for himself portraying complex characters in family dramas, from “Shameless” to “The Bear” and more.

White is yet to comment directly on the custody arrangement, or his alleged sober journey. “Iron Claw” hits theaters this December.
