Katy Perry is pulling out all the stops to herald her return to the music scene.
Scheduled for release on July 11, “Woman’s World” will mark the pop icon’s comeback single from her highly anticipated sixth studio album, details of which are still under wraps. This release will be Perry’s first since her fifth studio album, Smile, dropped in 2020.
In the lead-up to the single’s debut, Perry has been teasing fans with snippets of what promises to be a summer anthem. However, it was her recent appearance at Paris Couture Fashion Week on June 25 that truly turned heads and set tongues wagging.
Arriving at The Ritz Paris, Perry made a grand entrance in a striking ensemble that blurred the line between fashion and promotion. Initially appearing in what seemed to be a one-shoulder red minidress, she stunned onlookers as she ascended the hotel’s steps, revealing a colossal train attached to the back of her bodycon Balenciaga creation.
Emblazoned in bold white letters on the train were empowering lyrics from “Woman’s World,” already released to generate buzz. The train, reportedly stretching over 200 yards (or 500 feet, according to Rolling Stone), featured snippets of the song’s lyrics, including the line, “It’s a woman’s world and you’re lucky to be living in it.”

Perry’s fashion statement came hot on the heels of her debut at Vogue World: Paris just two days earlier, on June 23. For this occasion, she graced the runway at Place Vendôme in an archival Noir Kei Ninomiya dress characterized by geometric cutouts revealing skin and floral tulle embellishments on the skirt. The daring outfit redefined the concept of a “naked dress,” and Perry embraced the avant-garde look with her trademark charisma.

Vogue World: Paris celebrated the intersection of sports and fashion through the decades, with Perry’s appearance paying homage to the 1980s and martial arts influences. The event provided Perry a platform not only to showcase her fashion-forward sensibilities but also to seamlessly integrate promotion for her upcoming single.
Many have been chiming in about the singer wondering if the involvement of Dr. Luke for the new single also is a move that is contractually obligated for her record deal she signed years ago or if it was a choice by the artist herself. As of late, singer Kesha tweeted “LOL” as some directed as a subtweet when news of the producer’s involvement came to light.
Taking to Instagram, Perry shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of her Vogue World experience, including photos of her ensemble and a video chatting with model FKA Twigs and host Cara Delevingne backstage. In her caption, Perry cleverly tied in her single’s title, writing, “VOGUE WORLD x WOMAN’S WORLD,” further fueling excitement among her legions of fans.
As anticipation builds for “Woman’s World,” Perry’s strategic blend of music and fashion underscores her knack for creating buzzworthy moments that resonate across pop culture.
