In a TikTok posted by Kylie Jenner, she showed her fans a glimpse into her business and how she was involved with Kylie Cosmetics. But, it seems that her miniature vlog did not perform as well as she thought it might have, as many people called her out for ignoring safety and hygienic procedures while handling her products.
For example, besides wearing a white lab coat, she is not wearing or using any PPE, like gloves for her hands or a hairnet. In fact, her hair is not even tied up. Many people call this out on Instagram, with some writing “so no gloves or a hair net?” Others joked that the next release of products might have a little more than some bargained for, like pieces of her hair.

Their comments were even shared by professionals, with a professional make-up artist Kevin James Bennett commenting on his concerns, writing “Working with cosmetic manufacturers (and their labs) is part of my job. I have very short hair, and I’ve NEVER been allowed into the lab without a hair net…AND GLOVES.”
He continues, saying “Why are you gaslighting your followers? And what ignorant lab let you touch things without following proper sanitation protocols?” Bennett also reshared the photos of her taken at the lab, writing his opinion in a longer post. “Folks, this is not the way we create cosmetics and misrepresents how our industry works. Credible manufacturers follow STRICT sanitation protocols to protect you,” he states. “The nails, loose hair, no eye protection, no gloves, she probably has the wrong shoes on too,” someone else stated.

Some people, however, tried to stay on the good-faith side of things, theorizing that the photos might have been staged and are not actually being used for formula or available for customers. Additionally, some on TikTok did not see issues and pointed out the fact it looked like she is formulating concealers and foundations, new products that have been highly anticipated ever since Jenner released her cosmetic line in 2015.
