Machine Gun Kelly just took to social media to debut his new tattoo that covers the majority of his torso.

The photo, which is now the only on the artist’s public Instagram, shows the singer with the caption “for spiritual purposes only.”

Many in the comments section voices their concern as MGK covered a majority of his previous tattoos with the black ink that covers the majority of his arms and shoulders.

It is unclear when the star got the new viral ink as a majority of his last few public outings have the singer wearing sleeves and high collar shirts.

In recent years, the “Emo Girl” singer has expanded his assortment of ink exponentially, getting sweet matching tattoos with his fiancée, Megan Fox, and commemorative ink with Travis Barker to celebrate new music (Barker’s tattoo collection is equally impressive).

Instead of covering up his existing tattoos or getting them removed, in the past the star decided to overlap pieces, allowing his fresh ink to coexist alongside his old designs with some creative placement ideas.

In January 2020, Kelly unveiled his latest neck tattoo that says “Tickets to My Downfall” in old English font. Placed horizontally, the script wraps around the front of the rapper’s neck and refers to the title of his fifth studio album of the same name.

In July 2021, the rapper added a thorny ring around his neck that integrates his previously existing tattoos, such as the atomic structure in the middle and lightning flashes in its surrounding. Though Kelly did not reveal the meaning behind this ink, a barbed wire represented the hope, courage, and resilience it takes to overcome harsh struggles in life.

Kelly previously had the year of his birth inked across his chest – April 22, 1990. The piece read “Est. 1990” with two red crosses placed over the last two digits and was located right below his right collarbone, extending down horizontally.

MGK also drew inspiration from the track “Alpha Omega” on his 2015 album, “General Admission,” to get the Greek letters denoting the song title inked was previously on the left side of his chest.

His last tattoos before this latest move was covering up his guardian-angel design entirely with a massive eagle tattoo located in the middle of his chest. Many noticed this ink appeared to be an  eagle impaled by a bloody sword.
