Dan Rubin is a man of many talents. There’s no denying it. Creative director, singer, designer, photographer and philosopher. He also happens to be the co-founder of The Photographic Journal. To say that his story is a long one would be an understatement.

Since we’re mainly here to tackle the talented photographers of Instagram, though, this story, or rather his story, will be a condensed one. You can learn more about him via his interview with The Great Discontent.

Anyway! We’re really excited about this one, so let’s just dive right in, shall we?

Dan who wears his many hats in London, England, is one of the very first users of Instagram. That’s not the only reason for his 766k+ following, though. He’s really just that good at what he does.

When it comes to photography, Dan doesn’t just believe in capturing those fleeting moments but the feelings associated with it. (We think he’s nailed it.) While in the past, we’ve talked a lot about the particular style of our feature Instagrammers, we can’t really do that with Dan. Like the photographer himself, his photographs also wear many hats. From high contrasts to low contrasts, from foggy days to those crisp-blue-sky days, Dan has done it all.

He’s all about change and the unexpcted. What doesn’t change, however, is his core belief that the creative field can change the world. In his interview with The Great Discontent, he discloses his motto which is, “Trying to make things as incredible as possible for whoever it touches, however I can.” We’re guessing that’s what his full-time job actually is.

Dan, we think you should just go on ahead and add “being brilliant and awesome” to your resume.

Oh! Before we forget, you can also try your hand at being just as awesome by following his tips on phone photography over at The Guardian. Who knows? Maybe we’ll feature you next!

If you are now as head over heels as we are, you can follow him on Instagram, VSCO, or go straight to his portfolio. You’ll catch yourself gasping. We promise.
