Remi Bader, a popular content creator and advocate for size inclusivity, has been open about her ongoing body transformation after undergoing weight-loss surgery in December 2024. The 30-year-old influencer recently shared an honest update with her followers on Instagram, discussing her journey post-surgery and addressing rumors about her physical appearance.
In a candid video posted on her Instagram, Bader, who is known for her authentic approach to fashion and body image, spoke about her changing size after having gastric bypass surgery, specifically the SADI-S procedure. As she packed for a trip to Miami, she reflected on her journey and how she is adjusting to the physical changes that have come with her weight loss.

“I’ve been completely in denial of what my size is now for a long time, so I need to get rid of a lot of things in my closet and also get new things because I don’t even have underwear that fits me properly at this point,” Bader said in the video. “I’m kind of starting this journey now.”
Bader’s transparency about her body transformation has been a hallmark of her social media presence. Known for her realistic try-on haul videos and her advocacy for size inclusivity in fashion, Bader has consistently used her platform to challenge traditional beauty standards. Despite the physical changes she’s experiencing, she remains committed to staying true to her original mission.
In the video, Bader addressed some of the rumors circulating online, including speculation that she had undergone additional procedures, such as skin removal surgery, following her weight loss. She clarified that this was not the case.
“I know there’s a lot of chatter that I probably got a skin removal surgery too. I did not,” she explained. “I kind of wanted to see what and where my body ends up before I do anything.” She also pointed out stretch marks and scars that are the result of her surgery, highlighting the real and unfiltered nature of her experience.

Bader underwent the SADI-S procedure, which the Mayo Clinic describes as involving a sleeve gastrectomy followed by the closure of a portion of the small intestine. This procedure reduces the body’s ability to absorb fat and calories by shortening the distance food travels through the digestive system. The influencer emphasized that she wanted to share her experience with her followers while remaining transparent about the challenges she faced during the process.
Another reason for the shift in her content was the difficulty she encountered in finding her voice after the surgery. Bader admitted that she had stopped making the talking videos that had originally defined her platform, as she felt like she had nothing to say. Instead, she focused on showcasing her outfits with music.
“I stopped making talking videos for a very long time and just showed my outfits to music because I had nothing to say,” she explained. “I don’t want to completely change my platform to content revolving around body image, but I will mix in bits here and there if my followers have questions about it.”
Bader’s decision to go public with her weight-loss surgery was not an easy one. Before the surgery, she had built a loyal following as a plus-size influencer, embracing her curves and promoting body positivity. In a March interview with Self, she opened up about her internal conflict leading up to the decision to undergo surgery.
“I loved being curvy my whole life; I just did. It was who I was,” she said. “I will always believe that you can be a bigger size and be healthy and happy. I was for a while, that wasn’t a lie. But there was a point when it shifted, and I became really unhappy.”
Despite her initial hesitations, Bader explained that she reached a point where she felt the need to make a change for her own well-being. Following the surgery, she shared the difficulties of the recovery process, which was longer than expected. However, the rapid pace of her weight loss came as a surprise.

“I never thought it would be this quick,” she said. “Embracing my new body is something I’m still learning how to do, but I’m healing and figuring it out.”
Throughout her transformation, Bader has remained dedicated to being transparent with her audience, acknowledging the emotional and physical challenges of her journey. She emphasized that her commitment to authenticity remains unchanged, even as her body continues to evolve.
“I’m going to continue to be online and cry and share and not share and be me, and that’s not changing,” she concluded.
Bader’s openness about her weight-loss surgery and her evolving relationship with her body has resonated with many of her followers. While she has always been a staunch advocate for body positivity, her willingness to share both the highs and lows of her transformation has further endeared her to fans who appreciate her honesty.
Her story also sheds light on the broader conversation around body image and the various paths individuals may take to achieve personal health and happiness. For some, like Bader, weight-loss surgery can be a tool to help manage their well-being. For others, it’s important to challenge societal expectations and embrace their bodies at any size.
In addition to her candid updates about her physical transformation, Bader’s social media presence continues to reflect her passion for promoting size inclusivity within the fashion industry. As she adjusts to her new body, she remains committed to using her platform to champion body diversity, self-love, and authenticity.
While Bader’s journey is personal, it also highlights the evolving conversation about body image in the digital age. Influencers like Bader have the power to shape cultural perceptions, and her decision to share her story openly is a testament to the importance of transparency and self-acceptance in a world that often places unrealistic expectations on individuals based on their appearance.
