Everyone keeps asking Rihanna when the new music is coming out for R9, and the singer keeps dropping hints.
Many have been waiting for the long-awaited follow up to her smash 2016 album Anti, where the singer keeps giving vague updates on.

Speaking to ET on the red carpet Wednesday’s (April 17) London launch event for the Fenty x Puma Creeper Phatty Earth Tone sneaker, the singer was asked if she and partner A$AP Rocky might pull a Beyoncé and include their sons RZA and Riot on her untitled next album.
“It’s up to them,” Rihanna said of her two-year-old first-born with Rocky and their second son, who was born in August. She was, once again, also a bit vague about when we can expect a firm release date for the collection, saying “I wanna know too!”
After suggesting that she really hasn’t started to work on the songs for the album, Rihanna admitted it sounds like she has a few tracks to choose from though.
“I already got stuff that I feel like I could make hits out of,” she said. “Me and Rocky are really trying to figure out who’s gonna use what because it’s so good.”

In a recent conversation with Interview magazine, the singer said she has “a lot of visual ideas” so far, which isn’t typically how she starts her creative process. “It’s weird. My brain is working backward right now. I usually have the music first, and the music leads me into all of these visual opportunities, and now I’m having all of these visuals.”
However, Rihanna also told the magazine that she does not have the songs to accompany the visuals in mind.
Maybe the visual ideas are leading me to the songs that I need to make,” she said.
Rocky has also made the timeline a bit muddled on where the album stands as he recently teased his partner was “working” on the album.
In addition, Rihanna performed live for the first time in eight years when she took the stage for a pre-wedding celebration for the song of the richest man in Asia.
The “Umbrella” crooner and her rapper boyfriend, 35, first got together in late 2019. After three years together, the pair welcomed their first son, RZA, in 2022. Eager to expand their family, the couple quickly had another baby boy named Riot, in August 2023.

One particular point of pride for her has been finding inspiration in her kids and having the chance to channel that creative energy into a brand.
“My inspiration for design has been — I’ve gotten the opportunity to start that with Puma, designing kids shoes through the Avantis and now we’re doing the Creepers,” she said. “It’s really fun, it’s cute to see my kids like wear stuff that… I made and designed. It’s really incredible.”
