ROLE MODEL is the first artist to take part in Spotify’s new Reserved ticketing feature, the streaming platform announced Thursday. The program sets aside tour tickets for an artist’s most engaged fans ahead of the general public sale.
Reserved launched in the U.S. on Thursday through a partnership with Live Nation, with ticket sales processed through Ticketmaster. Eligible Spotify Premium subscribers, who must be 18 or older, will start seeing notifications on their home screen or via email if two tickets have been set aside for them. The purchase window opens Tuesday, June 23, and lasts about 24 hours.
ROLE MODEL, the stage name of singer Tucker Pillsbury, is touring 17 U.S. cities this year. Spotify said eligibility is based on engagement signals such as streams, saves and shares rather than ticket-buying speed or presale codes. The company said it will not charge additional fees for tickets bought through Reserved and will monitor for bot activity to keep offers limited to active listeners.
Spotify said any unclaimed tickets will go to the next most engaged eligible fans. The company plans to add more artists and expand Reserved to additional markets and ticketing partners later this year.
