Sabrina Carpenter is making waves at the 2025 Grammy Awards, and it’s no surprise. The 25-year-old singer, who has spent over a decade building her career, is finally getting the recognition she deserves, securing six nominations and performing at music’s biggest night.

Carpenter, who made a huge impact on the music scene in the past year, has become one of pop’s brightest stars. The former Disney Channel star opened for Taylor Swift, embarked on her first-ever arena tour, made her Coachella debut, and released her highly anticipated sixth studio album Short n’ Sweet. She also made headlines by partnering with Dunkin’ for a custom coffee order, further solidifying her status as a cultural influencer.

But beyond her musical talents, Carpenter is also becoming a fashion icon, and her look at the 2025 Grammys proved just that.

Styled by Jared Ellner, Carpenter took everyone by surprise with a jaw-dropping baby blue halter gown designed by Jonathan Anderson. The elegant dress featured a peplum silhouette and a floor-length skirt, adorned with feathers for added drama. The gown’s back, which dipped all the way down to her rear, was adorned with 19 carats of Chopard diamonds, including a show-stopping 50-carat D-flawless brilliant-cut gemstone from the jeweler’s Garden of Kalahari Collection.

Her accessories included a pear-shaped diamond earring and a 10.10-carat oval brilliant diamond ring, both by Chopard. As a finishing touch, Carpenter’s dress offered a rare glimpse of her butterfly tattoo on her ribcage and the written ink on her shoulder, giving fans a personal insight into her style.

Makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez gave Carpenter her signature glam look with fluttery eye makeup using Velour faux lashes, while hairstylist Evanie Frausto created a vintage French twist with Redken products. Frausto described the hair as “flirty” curls held in place with Redken Control Hair Spray, complementing the star’s glamorous ensemble.

A Rising Star: Six Nominations at the 2025 Grammys

Carpenter’s Grammy nominations reflect her growth as an artist. She’s nominated for Best New Artist, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance for her chart-topping single “Espresso.” In addition, her song “Please Please Please” earned a nod for Song of the Year, while Short n’ Sweet is up for both Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.

Despite already releasing five albums before Espresso took hold of the charts in 2024, Carpenter’s breakthrough moment came with her latest work. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Carpenter reflected on her decade-long journey in music. “I’ve always been true to myself and believed in my work since I was young,” she said. “I’ve realized that it’s always been about the small baby steps that you take over time to get you to this point.”

Carpenter’s Fashion Evolution

Beyond her musical accomplishments, Carpenter has solidified her place as a fashion icon. She’s known for channeling vintage styles, often wearing pieces far older than her years. At the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, Carpenter stunned in a sparkling Bob Mackie gown once worn by Madonna at the 1991 Oscars. Later at an afterparty, she slipped into a 1990 Michael Kors bodycon dress, further showcasing her love for fashion history.

Carpenter also wore an archival Victoria’s Secret red corset gown for her TIME magazine cover, a gown first worn by supermodel Naomi Campbell on the runway. However, the singer is not shy about going custom either. During her Short n’ Sweet tour, she performed in bespoke Victoria’s Secret bodysuits, each in different colors, delighting fans with the chance to guess what she’d wear next.

At the 2024 Met Gala, Carpenter wowed in a custom Oscar de la Renta gown, styled by Jason Bolden. The ensemble had a Cinderella-inspired aesthetic, featuring a velvet bodice with a sweetheart neckline and a powder blue ruffled skirt.

Grammys Performance and Future Plans

At the 2025 Grammys, Carpenter was among the many star-studded performers, including Chappell Roan, Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, and Shakira. Before the main show, she earned her first-ever Grammy, winning Best Pop Solo Performance for “Espresso” during the preshow ceremony.

After her Grammys appearance, Carpenter will head to Europe for the next leg of her Short n’ Sweet tour, which kicks off on March 3 in Dublin, Ireland, with supporting artist Rachel Chinouriri.
