Scooter Braun took to Instagram on Tuesday to poke fun at Taylor Swift, following her lavish party held at her $17 million Rhode Island mansion over the weekend.
Braun, who recently retired from music management, shared on his Instagram Story that he had “finally watched” the Max documentary titled “Taylor Swift vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood.” The documentary delves into the high-profile dispute between the retired music executive and the pop star over his purchase of her master recordings.
In a humorous twist, Braun followed up with a post showing images from Swift’s star-studded event, which included a comment: “How was I not invited to this?!?” accompanied by the hashtag “#laughalittle.”
Swift’s extravagant soirée was reportedly in celebration of Blake Lively’s birthday. The guest list featured an array of celebrities, including NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, models Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, and actors Ryan Reynolds and more.
The feud between Swift and Braun began in June 2019 when Swift publicly criticized Braun for acquiring her master recordings. She accused him of “stripping her” of her “life’s work” and lamented that she was never given a chance to buy the masters herself.
“I had to make the excruciating choice to leave behind my past,” Swift wrote in a Tumblr post at the time. She described Braun’s acquisition of her catalog—from her 2006 self-titled debut album through 2017’s “Reputation”—as a “worst-case scenario.”

In contrast, Braun expressed his frustration with Swift’s reaction. In an interview with Variety, he stated he had made several attempts to meet with Swift to discuss the deal, but she declined. “I regret [it] and it makes me sad that Taylor had that reaction to the deal. … All of what happened has been very confusing and not based on anything factual,” Braun said. “I don’t know what story she was told.”
Swift later admitted in a Vogue interview that she had not pursued the option to buy back her masters when it was presented. Braun ultimately sold the masters for over $300 million. “It was either investing in my past or my and other artists’ future, and I chose the future,” Swift explained.
In response to losing her masters, Swift announced plans to re-record her previous albums. She has since released four re-recorded albums: “Fearless (Taylor’s Version),” “Red (Taylor’s Version),” “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version).”
Alongside these re-recordings, Swift has also released several original albums under her contract with Universal Music Group, which affords her full control over future master recordings. Since 2018, she has produced new albums including “Lover,” “Folklore,” “Evermore,” “Midnights,” and “The Tortured Poets Department.”
Braun’s playful jab at Swift’s party illustrates the ongoing tension and public interest surrounding their feud, which has been a prominent topic in the entertainment industry.
