Some Samsung phones are sending user photos to contacts without their permission! It’s happening on late-model devices like the Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S9, and it appears to be related to a recent change to the Samsung Messages app. Damn, so it’s not enough that phones are monitoring our information, now they’re sending it folks? Ugh. Awful.
Samsung has said “We are aware of the reports regarding this matter and our technical teams are looking into it.” In the meantime, users are encouraged to either use a different messaging app or revoke the app’s ability to access your photo library.
Or maybe throw away your phone. Live in the mountains. Technology is a curse! Run from it, run friend, run!
