A recent TikTok sparked a heated debate in this woman’s comments after she claims to not date men if they do not buy her a drink from Starbucks. The debate started after another user, who goes by Trent, posted a TikTok captioned “Can’t believe there are girls that still date men who don’t pay for their nails, hair, and Starbucks.” Responding to that video, Evelyn, or @Evelynrayblog, said that they will not even get passed the talking stage if she mentioned coffee and they did not send her money to pay for it. “That’s it, you’re done,” she says.
@trentonacrey Do better baby girl???? #fyp
Her video immediately caught attention, with over 140 thousand likes in a little over a day, but not everyone agreed. “Umm, no thanks! I’ll stick with girls that can do things themselves and are just appreciative that I’ll do them. Not ones that are ‘entitled’,” one commenter noted. Some were in agreement, noting that she was not entitled to his money and not judge someone so quickly. “A boyfriend shouldn’t be paying for all that. He’s not your husband, doesn’t have to support you,” another person wrote.

In a follow-up, she says she looks at two things when she is interested in a man, saying that she did not have interest if he is not going to “provide and protect.” She notes that while she believes women can do all this on their own if she were to look for partnership, she would want those two basics. “It’s like an instinct thing. If he does it automatically.. that’s what we’re looking for,” one person agreed. But, not everyone was convinced yet, “He’s not committed to you tho, why should he provide for you? It’s different if yall are already dating. Unless you do the same for him.”

Still, Evelyn felt confident in her beliefs, saying that it is not about entitlement or expecting this, but looking for generosity, not looking to depend on someone. The views remained divided, as some thought that she was taking advantage, while others understood and agreed with where she was coming from.
