Summary:

  • Spotify introduces Reserved feature for dedicated fans, offering early access to concert tickets before public sales. Live Nation is launch partner.

  • Superfans identified based on Spotify activity will receive email and in-app notifications for exclusive ticket purchase window. No additional fees.

  • Rollout of Reserved begins this summer in the U.S., expanding to more shows over time to benefit artists and fans.

Spotify announced Reserved on Thursday at its 2026 Investor Day, a new feature that sets aside two concert tickets for an artist’s most dedicated listeners before sales open to the public.

The program launches this summer in the U.S. for eligible Premium subscribers 18 and older, with Live Nation signed as the multi-year launch partner. Spotify will identify superfans based on streams, shares and other Spotify activity, then send selected users an email and in-app notification with a dedicated purchase window of roughly a day. Fans choose their date, venue and seats at checkout on a ticketing partner’s platform. Spotify is not charging additional fees.

Charlie Hellman, Spotify’s global head of music, told MBW the platform has “incredibly high fidelity fan data of who is an active diehard.” Speaking to Music Ally, he framed the feature as broader than headline tours: “We think this is certainly going to be amazing for superfans of the biggest artists, but just as vital for indie and developing artists.”

Spotify says it will monitor account activity to filter out bots and fake streamers. Eligibility depends on location and engagement, and offers are tied to tours coming to a fan’s area. The company noted that superfans will outnumber available seats, so not every qualifying listener will get an offer.

Spotify says it has driven more than $1.5 billion in ticket sales for artists through its existing concert discovery features and partnerships with more than 40 ticketing services. Reserved expands that footprint by holding inventory rather than routing fans to presale queues.

The rollout begins with select tours this summer and will expand to more shows of varying sizes over time.
