It seems this viral video has made it high on Kim Jong Un’s to-do (away-with) list. The video, made in China, has started to circulate worldwide, entertaining audiences with its ingenious use of superimposition. Unfortunately, the leader of North Korea seems less than amused, as he is the subject of the lampoonery.
“Kim is trying to get China to pull the plug on a satirical video that, with some not-so-subtle digital trickery, shows him dancing, running, getting poked in the butt by a rocket and more, all set to catchy music,” reported The Huffington Post. “He also gets repeatedly pranked — often by President Barack Obama.”
In fact, Kim Jong’s video has cameo appearances from not only President Obama, but from Vladimir Putin. While the other two leaders have not protested to the upload, Kim Jong Un is staunchly opposed to it. Apparently, watching him prance about undermines his authority.
“The viral video is a Chinese-language techno track that features various dance and fight scenes in which Kim’s head has been magicked on the body of a participant,” according to South Korea’s Chosun Ilbun newspaper. “In one scene, the eternally smiling Kim is knocked out by U.S. President Barack Obama, while in another he has a bucket upturned on his head and is pushed into a swimming pool.”
However, it seems this is one war Kim Jong Un is doomed to lose. As with all things on the internet, once it is on, it is on. Thanks to the power of technology, Kim Jong Un’s dancing antics are immortalized. He’s fabulous!
