At just 24, Dutch producer and DJ LAVERN is redefining the sound of emotional dance music—and this year, he’s doing it on the biggest stages in the world. After making his EDC Las Vegas mainstage debut, LAVERN is riding a wave of success that includes a remix for pop superstar Tate McRae, a Las Vegas residency, and a slate of international festival performances that solidify his status as one of dance music’s most promising new stars.
Born and raised in the Netherlands, LAVERN—real name undisclosed by choice—has become the face of a new wave of dance music that blends nostalgic melodies, cinematic storytelling, and floor-shaking euphoria. His sound, often described as “emotive house,” has found a global audience: his discography has racked up over 750 million digital streams, and his fan base continues to grow at a staggering pace.
LAVERN’s journey into music wasn’t always a certainty. In fact, before his breakout as a DJ and producer, he was studying law—pursuing a career in the legal world. But after two years of university, he decided to follow his true calling: music. That leap of faith paid off in 2021 when his single Move Me went viral, amassing more than 60 million streams and earning viral traction across social media platforms.
He followed that success with Hold Me, a deeply personal and uplifting anthem that now stands as his most streamed track, surpassing 170 million plays. With this momentum, LAVERN quickly found himself on the radar of major artists and labels, landing official remix opportunities for global names like Kygo, Ava Max, and Becky G. Now, in 2025, he’s adding another major artist to his résumé: Tate McRae.
Speaking backstage at EDC Las Vegas, where he opened the mainstage in front of tens of thousands of fans, LAVERN shared details of his remix of McRae’s emotionally charged single Revolving Door. “They asked me to remix the track, and I immediately loved the vibe,” he said. “It’s more of a fast-paced house version with deep basslines and atmospheric builds. It’s already doing really well, and I loved working on it.”
Though he has yet to receive direct feedback from McRae herself, LAVERN confirmed that she personally approves all remixes. “I think she likes it,” he added with a grin.
The Revolving Door remix is just one part of a jam-packed year for the young DJ. LAVERN’s 2025 calendar includes performances at some of the world’s most iconic festivals and venues. In addition to his EDC Vegas appearance, he is set to perform at Sziget Festival in Budapest, support Martin Garrix in Mumbai, and play at Veld Music Festival in Toronto. He’s also booked to headline the legendary Brooklyn Mirage in New York and will return to Europe for performances at hotspots like La Clairière in Paris and Ushuaïa in Ibiza.

Perhaps most notably, LAVERN has secured a Las Vegas residency with Tao Group—a dream milestone for many electronic artists. He will perform at marquee clubs such as Hakkasan, Marquee, and Wet Republic. “It’s absolutely insane,” he said, recalling the surreal moment he saw his face on a Las Vegas billboard. “Just seeing myself up there alongside some of the biggest names in the world—it was a dream come true.”
Despite the rapid rise, LAVERN remains grounded and focused on the music. When asked about his favorite track to play live, he didn’t hesitate: Hold Me. “That song changed everything for me,” he said. “Every time I play it, people go wild. It has over 150 million streams, and it still grows every summer. It’s special.”
Later this year, LAVERN will embark on his first headline tour across the United States, showcasing his signature sound in venues from coast to coast. He also teased a highly anticipated collaboration with American producer Gryffin, a track he debuted during his EDC Vegas set. “It’s a beautiful track. It closed out my set, and the response was incredible,” he shared.
LAVERN’s rise also marks a new chapter in the Netherlands’ rich legacy of electronic talent. The country has produced world-renowned acts like Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, and Martin Garrix. While comparisons are inevitable, LAVERN isn’t trying to follow anyone else’s path. Instead, he’s focused on carving out his own lane—one built on emotional resonance, powerful storytelling, and a relentless commitment to quality.
As his name continues to climb festival lineups and streaming charts alike, LAVERN represents not just the next big thing in dance music, but a generational talent whose emotional depth and global appeal are redefining what it means to move a crowd.
“Being here at EDC, headlining stages, working on songs with people I admire—it’s surreal,” LAVERN said. “But it also feels right. I’ve worked hard for this moment, and I’m just getting started.”
