Far-right conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer is firmly denying rumors suggesting that she is having an affair with former President Donald Trump. In a recent episode of her podcast, Loomer expressed her outrage over the speculation, framing it as a coordinated attack from the media.
“They’ve taken it so far, and you know if I was a leftist journalist, if I was a Democrat, oh my God, the media would be up in arms if the Republican media was doing this to a left-wing journalist,” Loomer said on September 14. “They would say, ‘Oh my god, they’re misogynist, they’re bullying a woman, they’re trying to Monica Lewinsky her, they’re trying to discredit the fact that she’s a working woman.’”
Loomer’s comments came shortly after comedian Bill Maher mocked her on his HBO show, “Real Time with Bill Maher.” This followed Loomer’s claim that pop star Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce are in an “arranged relationship” designed to influence the upcoming 2024 election. In response to Loomer’s assertions, Maher quipped, “I think maybe Laura Loomer’s in an arranged relationship to influence the election because she’s very close to Trump. She’s 31. Looks like his type.”
Maher, who has been known for his sharp humor, referenced a previous editorial discussing Trump’s romantic involvements, suggesting that Loomer might be among them. “I think we may have our answer this week,” he added, intensifying the scrutiny surrounding Loomer.
In response to Maher’s remarks, Loomer threatened legal action, declaring on social media, “This is beyond the pale and it’s a complete and blatant lie.” She also pointed out the scrutiny she and Trump faced after she frequently traveled on the former president’s plane, including attending events commemorating the 23rd anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
“I have never in my life seen such a coordinated attack by the mainstream media, the White House, and leftist personalities to target a private citizen and investigative journalist simply because I flew on a plane and I support Donald Trump,” Loomer stated. “This is unacceptable. It’s a full-blown lie and incredibly disrespectful to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.”
Following the backlash regarding their association, Trump sought to distance himself from Loomer in a post on Truth Social on September 13. “Laura Loomer doesn’t work for the campaign,” he clarified. “She’s a private citizen and longtime supporter.” He added that while he disagreed with her statements, he acknowledged that many of his supporters share her frustrations with what he describes as attacks from “Radical Left Marxists and Fascists.”

Loomer has built her reputation on pushing harmful conspiracy theories and making controversial statements. She has gained notoriety for her far-right views and self-identification as a “white advocate.” Recently, she made headlines with an offensive remark regarding Vice President Kamala Harris, who is of Black and Indian descent. Loomer suggested that if Harris were to win the 2024 presidential election, “The White House will smell like curry & White House speeches will be facilitated via a call center.”
Critics have condemned Loomer’s rhetoric as racist and divisive, aligning her with a growing trend of far-right figures who leverage inflammatory language to garner attention and support. Loomer’s persistent use of provocative statements has not only drawn ire from opponents but has also raised concerns among moderate conservatives who fear that such tactics may alienate mainstream voters.
Despite her controversies, Loomer remains a prominent figure in certain conservative circles. Her attempts to rally support among right-wing audiences highlight a broader strategy that aims to capitalize on grievances against the political left. This approach has resonated with a segment of the Republican base that feels marginalized in today’s political climate.
As Loomer continues to navigate the turbulent waters of political commentary and celebrity culture, the scrutiny surrounding her relationship with Trump and the resulting media frenzy exemplifies the complex interplay between celebrity, politics, and social media. Whether Loomer can maintain her influence amid the growing backlash remains to be seen, but her denials and legal threats signal her determination to counter the narrative being spun by her critics.
In an era where the lines between politics and entertainment are increasingly blurred, Loomer’s case serves as a cautionary tale of how quickly public figures can become embroiled in controversy. As the 2024 election approaches, both Loomer and Trump will likely remain focal points in discussions about the intersection of celebrity culture and political discourse.
