Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be turning a corner when it comes to their relationship with King Charles III.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, apparently called Charles on Tuesday to wish him a happy birthday making a ‘turning point’ in their relationship according to the Telegraph.
Markle, 42, also reportedly chatted to Charles while the couple’s two children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, sent their grandfather a pre-recorded video of the little ones singing “Happy Birthday.”
The Telegraph noted that the conversation between the family members was “warm” and was a “notable shift in tone” between the estranged father and son.
As many recalled, the couple resigned from their royal duties in 2020 and moved to Montecito, California. Things grew even more heated when Harry was snubbed from the King’s birthday festivities.
Reports surfaces earlier in the month that Harry would be skipping his father’s birthday celebrations. Yet, a spokesperson for Harry confirmed that he actually never got an invite.
“In response to UK media headlines, there has been no contact regarding an invitation to His Majesty’s upcoming birthday,” Harry’s spokesperson told the Messenger at the time.

“It is disappointing the Sunday Times has misreported this story.”
As to Harry’s call with his father, it appeared to be one of many olive branches the two have been trying to gesture toward one another.
Harry was apparently included in the official birthday tribute to Charles that was shared on the Royal Family’s official Instagram account.
As for other birthday milestones, the King announced the launch of a new foundation titled Coronation Food Project.
“The project is a groundbreaking initiative to help reduce food waste and support those living in food insecurity,” the royal family announced in an Instagram statement Tuesday.
The interaction was warm between Harry and Charles, and could be a sign of rekindling after making the move to America.

As many recall, the former royal couple split the family dynamic when they bashed the monarchy. The family also was more than unhappy reading the recent memoir ‘Spare’ in which Harry dragged Charles and brother William.
Further in the book, Harry claims that Charles didn’t hug him when he delivered news that mother Princess Diana had died in the infamous car crash in 1997. He also claimed that Charles referred to him as a backup heir to the British throne on the day he was born.
Harry even went as far as accusing the Prince of Wales physically attacked him and was the influence behind the Nazi costume at a 2005 party.
The brothers have allegedly still been at odds, but Harry’s relationship with his father may be making the mend.
Harry and Charles were reportedly not on speaking terms for some time, however, he did show up (sans Markle) to support his dad on Coronation Day in May. Harry didn’t interact with Charles or William and he left immediately after the event ended.
However, royal insiders claimed last month that Charles was ready to mend his relationship with his son for “strategic” reasons.
“Ultimately Charles has not just a personal but also a strategic need to resolve the issue,” a former palace staffer told the Daily Beast at the time.
“It’s not sustainable for the king, who is the national symbol of unity, to be on such bad terms with his son.”
