  • Fast forward to this morning in New York City, and Hillary has finally addressed the public.

Despite what she describe to be a “painful loss,” Hillary was as positive and optimistic as one could be knowing that Donald Trump would be our next president.

Clinton opened her speech by stating that she had called Trump the previous night to congratulate him on the victory and to offer her political insight.

“Last night, I congratulated Donald Trump and offered to work with him on behalf of our country. I hope that he will be a successful president for all Americans.”

While a majority of the country is still not willing to accept the reality that is Trump, Hillary is encouraging all of us to accept the results and keep an open mind about our next president.

“We have seen that our nation is more deeply divided than we thought, but I still believe in America, and I always will… If you do, then we must accept this result and then look to the future. Donald Trump is going to be our President. We owe him an open mind and a chance to lead.”

Though Clinton continuously apologized and reiterated that the loss would be felt for a long time, she held her composure exceptionally well.

It’s evident that our country doesn’t want to accept the election results, but they have shown that they will continue to support Hillary and fight for the change they want to see in this country.
