Several members of the Kardashian family have evacuated their homes in the Hidden Hills area of Los Angeles County due to fast-moving wildfires that have prompted widespread evacuations and destruction in Southern California.

On Thursday, January 9, the family members—who reside in the upscale suburban community—were among many residents forced to leave their properties as the dangerous fires continued to spread across the region according to TMZ.

The blazes, fueled by extreme winds and dry vegetation, have threatened numerous homes in Hidden Hills, Calabasas, and surrounding areas. Authorities have issued mandatory evacuation orders for thousands of residents, with celebrities such as the Kardashians and other high-profile figures among those impacted by the fires.

The fires are part of a series of wildfires that have erupted across Los Angeles and Ventura counties since the start of the week, displacing more than 100,000 people. The Kenneth Fire, which broke out near the city of West Hills on January 9, has already scorched over 1,000 acres of land and continues to burn out of control. The fire has spread into nearby communities, including Hidden Hills, forcing the evacuations of not only local residents but also many Hollywood stars with homes in the area.

While it remains unclear whether the fire near Hidden Hills was intentionally set, law enforcement and fire officials have stated that the blaze is under investigation. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) recently took a suspect into custody in connection with a reported attempt to set a fire, although authorities have not confirmed any direct link between the suspect and the Kenneth Fire at this time.

The Kardashian family, known for their multi-million-dollar estates in the Hidden Hills and Calabasas area, were not alone in being forced to evacuate. Celebrities like Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, Anna Faris, Ricki Lake, and Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have also been impacted by the wildfires, with some losing their homes to the flames.

Kim Kardashian West, Khloe Kardashian, and Kourtney Kardashian are among the family members who live in the Hidden Hills neighborhood, known for its exclusivity and luxury. Many of the homes in the area feature large estates with sprawling grounds and are surrounded by dense vegetation—making them especially vulnerable to wildfires. The Kardashians have not made public statements on the damage to their homes, but they, along with other residents, were reportedly advised to leave as the fire neared.

The evacuation orders came as fierce winds stoked the fires, creating dangerous conditions for both residents and firefighters. Firefighters from several agencies, including the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), have been battling the blazes around the clock, with helicopters and ground crews working tirelessly to contain the fires. Despite their efforts, the fire’s rapid spread and strong winds have made it difficult to gain control.

The wildfires are also exacerbated by ongoing drought conditions in Southern California, which have left vegetation dry and highly flammable. Experts have warned that climate change and persistent drought conditions are contributing to the increasing frequency and severity of wildfires in the region, with authorities bracing for more extreme weather conditions in the coming days.

As of Friday, January 10, fire crews continued their efforts to contain the flames, and evacuation orders remained in place for several communities. Over 100,000 people have been forced from their homes as the fires show no signs of slowing down. Emergency shelters have been set up to accommodate evacuees, and local authorities are urging residents to stay alert and follow evacuation orders when necessary.

For now, it remains unclear when residents will be able to return to their homes, as authorities continue to assess the damage and work toward containment. The fires have already caused widespread damage to homes and infrastructure, with thousands of structures in the affected areas at risk.

The Kardashian family has faced natural disasters in the past, including evacuations during the 2018 Woolsey Fire, which also threatened their properties. The ongoing wildfires have once again underscored the vulnerability of even the wealthiest and most well-protected areas in California to the devastating impacts of climate-driven disasters.

As of Friday morning, no major injuries or fatalities have been reported in the ongoing fires, but the situation remains dire, with fire crews working around the clock to contain the blazes.

As the fire continues to rage in Southern California, the region remains on high alert, with officials urging residents to stay safe and adhere to evacuation orders.
