Kim Kardashian Trends After Claiming She Would “Eat Poop” to Look Younger

In a recent conversation with the New York Times, Kim Kardashian discusses her new 9-step skincare line. But, she made one comment many people found a bit problematic, where she claims “If you told me that I literally had to eat poop every single day and I would look younger, I might. I just might.” After wearing Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress at the Met Gala, and claiming she lost 16 pounds in 21 days in order to fit, these types of comments alarm some online who worry that young audiences absorb these comments and believe it is normal.

“Beauty culture is associated w/ anxiety, depression, body & facial dysmorphia, obsessive thoughts abt appearance, self-harm, lots of mental disorders/illnesses. Beauty culture literally breaks our brains & Kim is its current broken-brained leader,” Jessica DeFino, a beauty critic online wrote about how an obsession with looking younger should not be taken lightly. “In all seriousness, this is so unfortunate. Let’s normalize not being afraid to age and grow old. The only reason you would want to be young forever is if you’re not satisfied with life,” another person on Twitter wrote.

Others pointed out that while some might look into Kim Kardashian’s skincare line in order to have skin mirroring hers, it might be unlikely. “Friendly reminder that Kim Kardashian does not look the way she does because she follows a 9-step skincare routine but because she is a billionaire and celebrity with access to the best surgery, botox, fillers, lasers, and other cosmetic treatments available,” which some believe is a fair point. Individuals who would also like to improve their physical appearance can visit medical spas and explore several cosmetic products and treatments.

Some people, however, are hoping that the skincare regime will be worth it, especially since it costs a steep price of $630. To justify the expensive price, she says that “It’s definitely more prestige, and in order to get the types of ingredients that I would not really miss out on, it was kind of a necessity.”
