Raven Symoné stands up for her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday, amid social media backlash sparked by Miranda’s recent podcast revelation that she didn’t watch Raven’s projects while growing up. In a TikTok video posted on May 2, Raven addresses the negative comments and death threats directed at Miranda.
“I’m here with my wife to tell you to stop it in the comments and stop with the death threats in her DMs,” Raven asserts. “It is disrespectful to her and, in turn, disrespectful to me.”
@ravensymone Please stop with the death threats and miss information about @miranda v. pm. Its grown to a place that is completely disrespectful and out of control. Haters will hate and by all means do you boo boo HOWEVER do not spread lies and threaten my wife, marriage, or her character. I chose her and all of her…. Stop.
Miranda, who married the actress in 2020, takes the opportunity to clarify her remarks.
“I hope to clear the air right now and let you all know that I never have once said that I didn’t know who Raven was,” she explains. “I only ever said that I did not grow up watching That’s So Raven. I did not watch her as a child, but since getting married and meeting her in 2015, I have seen a majority of her work.”
Miranda emphasizes that Raven is more than just her career.
“She isn’t just Raven-Symoné to me,” Miranda shares. “You guys must try and open your minds a little bit and understand there’s more behind people that are celebrities. There is real life here.”

Raven acknowledges the presence of critics but draws a line against spreading lies and threatening her wife or their marriage.
“Haters will hate and by all means do you boo boo,” Raven writes in the caption. “HOWEVER do not spread lies and threaten my wife, marriage, or her character.”
The controversy arose after Miranda’s admission during a podcast appearance with Raven on April 15, where she revealed, “I knew who you were, but you were not on my radar.” However, Miranda emphasizes that she made an effort to watch Raven’s work after meeting her.
Since the podcast episode aired, many on social media criticized Miranda for not watching Raven’s work, prompting responses from both Raven and Miranda. The podcast host, Fannita, offers context to the debate, explaining Miranda’s age during the airing of “That’s So Raven” and praising Miranda for her role in bringing Raven onto the podcast.
Fannita also expresses her enjoyment of filming with the couple, describing it as nothing but banter and good vibes, and deems it her favorite podcast filming experience.
