Was Ally Brooke really the “glue” that held Fifth Harmony together?
In a new interview with Keke Palmer, Ally Brooke of the girl group says that the “X Factor” creator pulled the artists aside and gave her some insightful advice.
“After we were formed, Simon pulled me to the side and he said, ‘You are the glue who holds the group together.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, what?’… It was like a crown that he was giving me.”
Fans in the comments on X, formerly known as Twitter, debated on whether or not the statement was actually true.

Some fans claimed that Camila was actually what held the group together as the girls disbanded after the “Havana” singer left.
Former Fifth Harmony members Dinah Jane and Ally Brooke were on the carpet and ready to talk at Wednesday night’s (March 6) Billboard Women in Music 2024 event, with both women offering a tantalizing tease about a potential return by the “Worth It” group.
When asked if the former group, which also featured Lauren Jauregui, Normani and Camila Cabello — might be poised for a reunion after their 2018 split, Brooke was cagey, saying “we’ll see… we’re not sure.

Meanwhile, Jane said, “I love that our fans can reminisce on such good times and I love that we’re getting the credit again. Our music was very impactful at the time and I feel like it was kind of overlooked, to be honest. So now that it’s reviving again on its own it just shows our music speaks for itself.”
As of late, TikTok fans have been streaming the “Work From Home” group’s songs nonstop. So much in fact that reports began to come out speculating the group may reunite to work on new music.
Yet, those reports were shut down shortly after.
Brooke also clarified on X that there “no official band reunion happening at the moment,” but “some beautiful friendships and relationships are slowly reuniting in a healing and empowering way.”

Fifth Harmony then went on to prove that they still have love for all of the members when Cabello, Jauregui, Brooke and Jane all left supportive comments on Normani’s Instagram post last month announcing her long-awaited debut album, “Dopamine.”
The group first banded together after appearing on “The X Factor” Season 2 back in 2012 and graced the public with hit songs including “Work From Home” and “Worth It.”

Two albums and four years later, Normani, Jauregui, Brooke and Jane infamously announced Cabello had informed them “via her representatives” that she was leaving the group.
The group went on to release one more album in 2017 before splitting to pursue their own solo ventures.
