As the holiday season approaches, Taylor Swift is set to delight her fans with several exciting releases. The singer revealed on Tuesday that she will be releasing a first-ever CD and vinyl edition of “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology,” along with a commemorative book detailing her successful Eras Tour. Both products will be available exclusively at Target on Black Friday, November 24.
The extended edition of “The Tortured Poets Department” will feature a total of 35 tracks, including 31 songs from the original digital release plus four new acoustic bonus tracks. This release will finally bring the album to physical formats, which had previously only been available for digital download and streaming. The vinyl edition will consist of four marbled, translucent LPs and will come with a 12-by-12 inch poster. The vinyl set is priced at $59.99, while the CD will retail for $17.99.
In addition to the album, Swift is also launching “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Book,” a 256-page volume that promises to captivate fans with over 500 images. The book will include photos from each segment of her three-hour-plus performance, as well as behind-the-scenes images featuring instruments, costumes, and designer sketches. Swift will also share personal reflections and notes throughout the book, which will be available for $39.99.
Previously, “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology” was released digitally in April, just two hours after the standard edition. Until now, physical copies had only been available in the standard 16-track format. Swift hinted in her social media announcement that details regarding an international release for the products would be available soon.
The physical editions of the album and book will hit Target stores in North America on November 29, one day before they become available for online purchase through Target’s website and app. The release of the “Anthology” version is expected to have a significant impact on the charts. The original release, which includes both standard and deluxe editions, has already topped the Billboard 200 album chart for 15 non-consecutive weeks, marking a personal best for Swift and placing her among a select few artists in Billboard history to achieve such a feat.
With the physical release, it is anticipated that the album will reclaim the top position on the Billboard charts, barring any unexpected competition from other artists releasing new music around the same time.
In addition to her upcoming releases, Swift is preparing to return to the North American stage for the final leg of her nearly two-year Eras Tour, which has become the most commercially successful tour in history. Swift will kick off this leg with a three-night stand in Miami starting this weekend, followed by nine shows in Canada. The tour will conclude with performances in Vancouver from December 6 to 8.
