In a clip from his ESPN2 show “Olbermann,” host Keith Olbermann tears down the notion that retiring Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter is the greatest player to ever wear that uniform. Or even AMONG the greatest.

(Specifically, he names 10 Yankees he feels deserve the #1 all-time greatest title above Jeter:

Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Thurman Munson, Graig Nettles, Willie Randolph, Mike Mussina, Red Ruffing and A-Rod)

Olbermann argues that it’s Jeter’s longevity – with a MLB career spanning 20 years – that makes his legacy appear greater in retrospect. He also savagely mocks the extended farewell the Yankees are giving Jeter in this, his final season as a professional ballplayer.

The clip has gone viral online, garnering over 200,000 views in one day online and trending consistently on Twitter and Facebook since its debut.
